Behind the scenes of the Māui dolphin bag process

Some months ago we decided to collaborate with WDC raising awareness of the critically endangered Māui dolphin and we started our documentation process happy to learn about these animals.
We watched lots of videos, read lots of news pieces and opinion articles... and we grew a true love for these incredible yet tiny mammals. We learned that we (as in "human beings") are literally killing them with our devastating fishing methods and they are now on the brink of extinction. How can this be possible!?
So we started designing what we wanted to be a great bag, not only beautiful (Māui dolphins can't be any cuter, so that was easy) but also comfortable to carry around and big enough to keep things like a towel and bathing suit inside it. And... this was our design!
We all loved it at first sight, both our crew and the lovely people at WDC, so we started the production process of the 57 Māui dolphin bags right away. Unfortunately we don't have pictures of the production process but maybe this post on our journal will give you an idea (and we promise we'll remember to document it next time!).
After the production was over, we had to take professional pictures of one of the bags and so the shooting of the promotional picture began! We knew we wanted the Māui dolphin bag to be the main element of the picture and we also wanted the picture to share a Summery feeling.
We already loved what we could see that day, but we were super surprised with the final result of the picture: it couldn't be prettier! It had the sweetest hue of pink and our Māui dolphin bag looked as if it was popping out of the picture. Roc and Ona's work is incredible.
We are really happy with the result of this collaboration, especially because we know donating 30 € for each Māui dolphin bag to WDC we are all actively contributing to their protection.
If you'd like to own a numbered limited edition Māui dolphin bag you still can, there are a few units left of the total 57 ♥
